Beautiful, Timely, Ageless, Classic, Fresh, Anointed, Rare, these are just some of the words used to describe BLOOD SONG, Hannah Ola’s 2nd official single of 2017, released for Easter.
It is a simple but powerful song that is ready for choirs and congregations across the world to begin to add to their favourite worship music repertoire/ list.
Of the inspiration behind the self-written song, Hannah says, “At the end of the day it’s all about the Cross!! And the precious Blood shed for you and for me! Easter is my favourite season of the year; it underpins the essence of my Christianity. I prayed to God for a song about the redemptive power of the Blood of His Son Jesus, and He gave me this song in January 2015, but I did not fully realise the power in it until the beginning of 2017 when I just could not stop singing it during my private worship. I knew I could not postpone another year, I know BLOOD SONG is a song the world needs to hear now.”
BLOOD SONG is produced by music and vocal producer extraordinaire, Michael Oyo of OYO Musiq. This video is directed by the brilliant Charlie Locke
Hannah’s return hit track, #BabaDey entered the UK Christian charts at No. 2. The star-studded song, featuring the legendary international gospel artist, Tim Godfrey, and MOBO Award winners, Faith Child and Evans Ogboi, made UK Gospel history with two videos being released on the same day. The videos proved popular with 200,000 views combined, and counting.
TBN UK, the premier Christian TV network retained the video on rotation, as did other TV networks and radio stations globally.
“Baba Dey” is a popular broken/pigeon English term which translates as “God Lives” in English. Hannah says, “I wrote Baba Dey during a period when I wondered whether God could see the injustice happening around me, and why he would allow it to persist. The song was a personal encouragement to me not to give up in dark situations because indeed, “Baba Dey”! God is real, and continues to confirm His sovereignty in my life, even when it is difficult to accept or understand, He is always in control, and the results always prove it!”
With its catchy, upbeat, dance melody Baba Dey is a reminder to everyone that God is bigger than all our problems, His Son is proof of our victory and a salute to all who are facing trials to hold on in there because joy comes in the morning.
